The ISO standards are a range of standards that are internationally recognized and can be explained as formulas that for example assist organizations to develop safe, reliable, and good quality products and services, but also help enhance efficiency while reducing errors and waste.
As Micronic we are certified for two of these standards, the ISO 9001:2015 standard which is given for our quality management system and the ISO 14001:2015 standard that incorporates our environmental management system which helps us to manage our environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner. Within this blog post we will explain what both standards entail and what can be expected from us as an organization.
ISO 9001:2015
The ISO 9001 standard consists of a set of criteria based on several quality management principles. The seven quality management principles are:
With these principles a focus is brought on customers and helps structure the different business systems. By meeting the ISO 9001 standard, Micronic has a clear structure through all levels in the organization to ensure we can meet the requirements of our customers and other stakeholders. When looking at the different quality management principles, improvement is an important principle for Micronic. Within the improvement criterium our customers are central. Based on customer feedback, we continuously improve our products and processes, but also keep innovating to support laboratory researchers in finding solutions that contribute to a higher quality of life. Another pillar that Micronic focuses on is sustainability. This is incorporated as a fundamental part of our organization, as we are certified for ISO 14001:2015 as well. We are conscious about implementing sustainability in our management system.
ISO 14001:2015
ISO 14001 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and it maps out a framework that a company can follow up to set up an effective environmental management system. It can provide assurance to company management, employees, or external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and reduced. [2] Based on the ISO 14001 standard, Micronic can precisely specify the environmental requirements in the management system which in turn can help improve our environmental performance. The standard supports in managing our environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner and focuses on the contribution to sustainability throughout all levels within the organization bearing in mind the complete life cycle of our products.
The ISO 14001 standard is intertwined in our environmental policy. At Micronic advancing scientific research to enhance the quality of life is our corporate goal and that extends to our commitment of safeguarding the natural environment for future generations. By implementing environmental activities in our daily operations, we continuously work towards goals to increase efficiencies and reduce waste. Our management system prescribes that our intended environmental outcomes should be focused on:
Micronic, for example, constantly strives to utilize and develop solutions that minimize the impact on the environment – whether it is an energy efficient injection molding machine, plastic recycling, waste sorting, eco-friendly packaging, or high-density products that promote efficiency at our customers’ sites.
