Improved Sample Traceability with New Bottom Rack ID

Additional to the 1D barcode and human readable code on the side of the rack, Micronic has now added a 2D Data-Matrix code on the bottom of the rack. This laser-etched 2D Data Matrix Code is available on the 96-1, 96-Q1, 96-2, 96-3 and 96-4 Micronic ULT racks.  The bottom rack identifier ID is placed on the junction of A1-B2 and A2-B1 as seen on the picture below.

With this additional 2D code, the Micronic ULT Racks are now provided with five different codings. The rack features a cover print indicating the rack and tube type, a unique laser-etched alphanumeric coding on top of the rack, a 1D barcode and human readable code on the side of the rack and now also a 2D Data-Matrix code on the bottom of the rack. The bottom rack ID is compatible with the Micronic Code Reader Software, this way the 2D code can be scanned simultaneously with the 2D codes on the tubes.

Absolute traceability and reproducibility is of utmost importance to Micronic. To ensure complete traceability, all of the rack codings are permanently laser-etched into the rack. By laser-etching the codes, they will never wear, fall off or lose their quality when freeze-thawing the racks multiple times, thus ensuring complete traceability at all times.

Micronic sample storage labware is precision manufactured and assembled in house under NEN-EN ISO 1466-1 standard Class 7 clean room conditions. The Micronic ULT Racks comply with the highest injection molding standards and are free of any detectable RNase or DNase contamination.
