Micronic is an independent organization with its headquarters located in Lelystad, the Netherlands. We are an ISO 9001 and 14001 certified company.
Micronic’s goal is to advance research by serving scientists in finding solutions that contribute to a higher quality of life. We develop and manufacture a range of Dutch-designed products to enhance the process of sample preservation and storage.
The University of Edinburgh and the Natural History Museum are using, as part of the 'Insect Pollinators Initiative', the Micronic 4.00ml tube for storing the larger insects in the collection.
Using a unique tube coding system from Micronic, the Animal Sciences Group has been able to significantly improve the absolute traceability, throughput and long term storage integrity of labelled samples going through their laboratory.
At Micronic our goal is to advance research by serving scientists in finding solutions that contribute to a higher quality of life. This is why it makes us particularly proud to supply the researchers of JUST with the consumables they need for their robotic discovery platform.
The Nees Institute for Plant Biodiversity selected Micronic 0.50ml 2D Data-Matrix coded tubes together with TPE caps to provide high integrity, long-term storage of their samples at -80°C.
"We use the Micronic sample storage products because the individual barcoded tubes allows us to easily swap tubes from plate to plate. Previously, we would make up a new plate using an aliquot of sample. By instead swapping the tubes, we no longer need to split the sample up when we need to analysis the sample again. As we have over 70,000 DNA samples, it is preferable to keep a sample in a single tube then split over several plates."
