Our goal is to advance research by serving scientists in finding solutions that contribute to a higher quality of life. We develop and manufacture a range of products to enhance the process of sample preservation and storage.
Micronic is an independent organization with its headquarters located in Lelystad, the Netherlands. At Micronic, advancing scientific research to enhance quality of life is our corporate goal and to achieve this we make innovation and quality a priority. We engage in various innovative processes within our organization, like product development and customer focused lean manufacturing systems, in order to create new and improved products, solutions and services that provide radically better customer experiences.
Our premium labware and precision engineered equipment is developed and manufactured in-house. This core competence gives us the opportunity to offer top-of-the-line products, delivering exceptional quality, reliability and durability. Above all, we stand behind our solutions and are confident that you will too.
ISO CERTIFICATIONS
Micronic operates corporate integrated Quality Management System (QMS) that is certified to ISO 9001:2015. Reducing our impact on the environment is an integral part of our continuous improvement efforts. The environmental policy of Micronic is determined by our headquarters in the Netherlands, which is certified to ISO 14001:2015.
CERTIFIED CLASS 7 CLEAN ROOM
Micronic labware is manufactured and assembled in-house in a NEN-EN-ISO14644-1 Class 7 certified clean room environment (which is comparable to the US Federal Standard 209E Class 10,000).
VIRGIN MATERIAL AND APPROVALS
For the manufacturing of its long term sample storage labware products Micronic uses solely virgin plastic raw material. The raw materials and auxiliary agents are selected based on the specifications that satisfy the high quality requirements of our products. The materials are FDA approved and comply with the (USA) USP XXII tests, including class VI (Medical approved), and the European Pharmacopoeia-monograph 3.2.2 unless communicated otherwise. Material components used to produce Micronic labware can be traced via the lot number indicated on the packaging.
EXTRACTABLES
The materials used for Micronic tubes are the result of extensive research. One selection criterion is that the amount of measurable extractables leaching into samples is minimized.
RNASE, DNASE AND ENDOTOXIN (PYROGEN)
By maintaining the highest possible hygiene level during our production processes, Micronic manufactured labware is free of any detectable RNase or DNase contamination and the endotoxin level of produced and packaged labware is limited to an acceptable minimum (< 0.01 EU/ml). Our products are periodically tested on RNase, DNase and their endotoxin levels by independent expert organizations.
LASER-ETCHED CODES
The Micronic 2D Data-Matrix codes and 1D barcodes are produced conform industry standards. The 2D Data-Matrix code (which adheres to the ECC200 standard) and 1D barcode (type 128B) are laser-etched into the code area and are guaranteed unique.
PRODUCT QUALITY CONTROL
Products produced by Micronic are tested according to AQL inspection level G2 and AQL value 0.4.
CE MARKING
Micronic Sample Storage tubes are classified as general laboratory products according to leading European Life Science Organizations (GAMBICA, FHI, LABMAS, Laborama, SPECTARIS). More information can be found here.
DECONTAMINATION
Upon request, Micronic products can be supplied gamma irradiated or ethylene oxide treated.
IATA
Our products comply with the IATA requirements for the transport of diagnostic specimens (UN packing instruction 602 and 650), assuming that our products are properly used (closed).

1984 |
Micronic started its business in March 1984 as a manufacturer of blocks, pipette tips and tubes for samples storage and sample handling. In that same year, Micronic set the standard for the 96-format tube rack that became the official SBS format in 1996. |
1996 |
The α-numerical (A1-H12) identification including refill carrier was introduced by Micronic. The α-numerical identification was the world’s first robust tube identification system. |
2000 |
The Micronic 2D TraXis code and shortly after followed by the 2D Data-Matrix code, were introduced on a 1.40ml tube. With the 2D code identification system, Micronic was the first to answer the market’s need for the unique traceability of stored samples. In the same year, code reading equipment was introduced. |
2004 |
Micronic’s sample storage tube range was extended with the 0.50ml, 0.75ml and 1.10ml tubes and accompanying racks, and Micronic introduced instruments for sample tube (de)capping. |
2012 |
Micronic America LLC and Micronic Manufacturing USA LLC were incorporated in addition to the business in The Netherlands, increasing the scope of sale and distribution capabilities into The United States. |
2015 |
Micronic won the Humanimal Innovation Award for ‘Best Initial Idea’ for a tissue storage product. The Micronic ULT Rack Range was introduced which sets a new standard in the market for cryogenic storage. |
2017 |
The Micronic Screw Cap Recappers CS700 & CS500 won the ‘Good Industrial Design’ award at Dutch Design Week 2017. Additionally, Micronic was elected as the best qualified learning company of Lelystad, The Netherlands. |
2018 |
The revolutionary hybrid tubes of Micronic were launched. The unique utilization of 4 coding concepts on one tube guarantees the complete traceability of samples. |
2019 |
Two of Micronic’s most popular tubes, the 1.40mL and the 4.00mL, have received an ACT label. The ACT label provides critical information on the environmental impact of laboratory products. The same year state-of-the-art, large-capacity Micronic Tube Handler HT700 was launched. |
