Micronic provides a complete range of sample storage tubes designed to fit the 96-well, 48-well or 24-well ANSI/SLAS format storage racks (previously known as SBS format racks). The extensive selection includes tubes with volumes ranging from 0.30ml to 6.00ml making them ideal for a variety of common laboratory storage application. The tubes are available non-coded, alphanumeric coded or with a unique 2D Data-Matrix code (compliant with the ECC200 standard) on the tube bottom, which can be optionally paired with a 1D barcode on the tube side. Micronic also offers specialty tubes, such as the Tubestrip-8 and Amber tubes for light sensitive samples.
The sample tubes are not only manufactured to the highest quality standards but are also suitable wide range of sample types, including tissue, blood, serum, urine, DNA as well as chemical solvents. Most of the tubes are compatible with temperatures from Vapor Phase LN2 to +100 °C, making them a perfect fit for biobanks and biobanking applications. Constructed from high-purity, medical-grade polypropylene, the tubes are free from detectable RNase and DNase contamination. Additionally, they are produced in a certified Class 7 cleanroom environment, ensuring a high level of cleanliness and pristine quality.
Different types of tube bottoms are available to accommodate various storage needs. For optimal sample retention, V-bottom tubes are available, while U-bottom or round bottom tubes allow for maximizing sample volume. Flat bottom tubes are an option for solid samples like tissue. For applications requiring very small volumes, such as genomics, Vr-bottom tubes are available. These tubes are specifically designed for low-volume liquid handlers and enable the miniaturization of reaction volumes.
Micronic offers tubes with internal thread or external thread. Several cap types are available, including push caps, screw caps, ultra-low profile caps, and caps with enhanced grip, designed specifically for use with automated systems. Most caps come in a wide range of vibrant colors, enabling easy sample identification without the need for additional tools.
Micronic’s unique coding options ensure researchers have complete control over their sample collections. The tubes are available with 1D barcodes, 2D Data-Matrix codes, and human-readable codes. Combined with automated systems, the traceability of valuable samples during the sample storage process is guaranteed. The 2D coded tubes allow precise tracking of every sample, leading to optimal research outcomes. Additionally, the tubes are autoclavable and can be supplied gamma irradiated or treated with ethylene oxide without compromising product performance.
